SELECTIVE NEW YORK WOMAN PICKS ISLAND POINTE FOR HER SECOND HOME

And, she purchased her home sight unseen

New York native Suzanne Lopez-isa knows that she is very demanding. So demanding in fact, that when she and her husband Orlando started looking for a second home in South Florida, he was sure they would never find anything to please her. But he was dead wrong. The minute Suzanne, a former New York interior designer, laid her discerning eyes on Island Pointe in Bay Harbor Islands it was love at first sight. What makes the story even greater is that Suzanne purchased their unit sight unseen. She was attracted to an ad on the waterfront property that she saw in a magazine while visiting Miami, ripped it out, and called the sales center when she returned home.

“I remember that day distinctly,” she says. “I was in my home in New Jersey on a miserable, freezing, rainy gray-skied Sunday, looking at the ad and wishing I could be on the terrace in Island Pointe overlooking the water that very moment.”

After speaking to a very knowledgeable sales associate on the phone at length, Suzanne waited to receive a package that would include floor plans and more details about the condominium, its amenities and its features. Once that arrived and she saw the spacious size of the apartments, the incredible views and the reasonable prices, she sent a deposit and claimed a one bedroom with a great view as their very own. Coming from a very large home, space was very important to Suzanne and she found that most bedrooms she looked at in other communities were like closets. Not here. At Island Pointe space is the name of the game. Suzanne was also impressed with the solid construction offered here—she is not a fan of plaster board. She was sick of looking at renderings that often were not truthful and took three years to complete—she wanted to see exactly what the building would look like so Island Point fit the bill.
